Bijan Cortes Commits To Oklahoma

2021 guard Bijan Cortes is headed to Norman

2021 four star Bijan Cortes will be playing his college basketball at Oklahoma. Cortes is a crafty guard that despite not being a great athlete has figured out a way to score against some of the best competition on the AAU level. He shoots the ball well from deep, in addition with being able to get by defenders and finish at the rim. As a facilitator he has shown the ability to set up teammates, and this will be one of the most important aspects to his game once he gets to campus. He could struggle as a defender against more athletic guards, but if he is able to score and be the lead guard at a high level that will be enough to have an impact in college regardless of how he progresses as a defender.

Cortes is ranked #150 by Rivals, #166 by 247 Sports, and he is not ranked by ESPN. He chose the Sooners over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, and North Texas among others. Competing for Team Griffin in the EYBL he averaged 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 26 minutes per game.
