2020 guard Jalen Terry announced that he will play his college basketball at the University of Oregon. Depending on which source you believe Terry is listed from 5’11” to 6’1″, and hovering around 160 pounds he will need to add strength early in his college career. Despite being undersized his athleticism allows him to play bigger being able to finish around and at the rim with consistency. His end to end speed and quickness are two of his biggest strengths, which when added with an elite ability to handle the ball equals a deadly offensive skill set in the open court. He has shown that he can knock down outside jump shots, but he needs to become a more efficient shooter if he wants to make a big impact on the college level.
Terry is ranked #49 by Rivals, #56 by 247 Sports, and #73 by ESPN. While playing for The Family in the EYBL he averaged 17.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 31.4 minutes per game. After decommitting from Michigan State late in 2019 he chose the Ducks over Louisville and LSU. This Oregon’s first commitment in the class of 2020, giving them some needed guard depth heading into next season.
